notes Notes

This card supports Windows Sound System, Disney Sound Source and Covox Speach Thing. In DOS the mode can be switched between Covox and DSS using a sgcox.exe utility (see drivers).

Althoug the card has a wavetable header, it is not MPU-401 compatible, so General MIDI sound doesn't work in DOS. The sound galaxy test software however can playback MIDI through wavetable, what means that theoretically it should be possible to redirect MPU-401 per software into the proprietary solution of this card. Currently no such software is known to be existing.

For WSS suport some cards are delivered with Crystal chip and some use Analog Devices.

Some cards use original Yamaha YMF-262 OPL3 FM chip, some use a clone LS-212 which sounds identically and is probably just a relabled Yamaha chip.
